Dear Editor,

I am writing regarding the closure of the George & Dragon pub in Marlow.

Thanks to the misguided High Wycombe council planners, Marlow is about to lose a popular eating, drinking and socialising venue.  The ‘planners’ specified that the chairs/table were on a ‘public highway’.

This ‘public highway’ is a minor road only used for parking and was a pleasant location for visitors to sit down for drink/eats. Surely the ‘planners with their red tape could have sensibly facilitated the continuation of this seating area.

Yet again the planners wipe out another local business. I suggest the ‘planners’ are not fit for purpose.

Lyndon Yorke.
