A High Wycombe man is set to remove a tree on a neighbour’s boundary due to concerns over security and privacy.
Mr Leigh Ainger of 7 Rye View submitted his plan to fell a single conifer striding the boundary with his neighbour to Buckinghamshire Council.
In a statement, he said: “We would like to remove a conifer tree that is on our boundary line with No. 9 Rye View.
“The tree causes a security and privacy concern as the fence panel between the two properties has had to be removed due to its location.
“The tree is within five meters of our house, blocking natural light to the house as well as the potential damage caused by the roots.”

The applicant also explained that the conifer was covered with ivy, across the majority of its surface, causing a ‘concern’ for the health of the tree itself.
Pictures submitted to Bucks Council by the applicant show a large conifer next to the edge of a lawn and near a decked area.
One image shows a missing fence panel where the tree stands, allowing a view into the neighbour’s garden.
Mr Ainger owns the conifer, which is not subject to a tree preservation order, according to his application.
