Numerous residents in Holmer Green have expressed their frustration after a car transporter trailer which has a disused Range Rover on top has been left ‘abandoned’ in the village.
It has been alleged that the two vehicles were ‘dumped’ along Earl Howe Road ‘several months ago’ and have not moved since.
Images obtained by the Free Press show that the transporter’s tyres are considerably flat, whilst moss has started to appear on the Range Rover Over Finch.
It was first reported to Fix My Street in May this year, but residents have claimed the dumped vehicles first appeared in April.
One person said: “It’s a real pain in the a**e.
“There are lots of mums who push their babies in buggies along this road, and it’s dangerous that sometimes, they need to go out into the road.
“You can’t see anything when you’re along that side of the pavement.
“You’re blocked off.”
A jogger said: “It’s not very good.
“It’s been here for a little while and it’s quite hazardous.”
Another person said: “Look at it, it's such an eyesore and it takes up so much space on the road.
“It needs to go.
“Also, look at the car on top – that isn’t cheap.
“It’s quite expensive so who knows why it’s been dumped here.”
In all, six reports have been made to the Fix My Street website in nearly three months, and despite each concern being met with a response, the two vehicles have not moved.
The reports were made on May 4, May 7, May 8, May 11, June 21, and July 21.
Each submission was met with: “Subject to available resources, a civil enforcement officer (traffic warden) will go and assess, and if a vehicle is parked in contravention of a parking restriction, a penalty charge notice may be issued.”
Another resident added: “There are few community events that take place in the village so people try and park along the street as it’s free and whatnot.
“But sometimes it can be very busy, and it causes many problems.
“You can’t see around the thing and you need to go quite slowly as it’s near the junction.
“It’s also facing the wrong way – it’s facing oncoming traffic so it’s on the wrong side of the road.
“The council need to try and sort this out as it’s quite dangerous.”
The Free Press has approached Buckinghamshire Council for a comment.
