A plan to create 10 new flats planned above a closed Co-op supermarket has been given permission.

This is just one of the many applications considered by Buckinghamshire Council during the past seven days.

10 new homes, Bishops House, Market Place Chalfont St Peter (PL/24/1643/PAPCR)

Council officers have granted permission for 10 new homes above the Co-Op supermarket, which closed earlier this year.

The first floor of Bishops House will remain in retail use, while the first floor will house two studios, three one-bedroom apartments and three two-bedroom apartments.

Chalfont St Peter Developments Ltd’s Plans also state that the second floor will accommodate a single one-bedroom apartment and another flat with two bedrooms.

Vehicular access and parking will be provided to the rear and side of the building, with 67 parking spaces in total.

A noise assessment submitted as part of the plans reads: “The conversion of the vacant offices to residential dwellings will not place unreasonable restrictions on the existing commercial unit at ground floor level in terms of future occupiers complaining about the noise.

“The noise from the existing deliveries and the revised refrigeration and air conditioning equipment have been considered.”

Replacement of riverside pavilion and associated decking, Harefield, River Road, Taplow (PL/24/0977/FA)

Council planning officers have given applicant Mr S Chambers permission to replace these parts of the property, along with a summerhouse.

His approved application is an alternative proposal to a previous plan for the same site, which was withdrawn earlier this year.

The new plans state: “In a positive response to feedback received at that time, the proposals have been reduced in scale and are now supported by the required evidence in respect of flooding and ecological matters.”

The applicant says the replacement pavilion will have an additional section of roof which will ‘oversail part of the decking’ in order to provide shade and shelter for sitting outside.

New apartments, Amersham Mews, Amersham Hill, High Wycombe (24/06199/PNPCR)

Applicant Mr Munir Younus can change the use of the existing ground and first floors from offices to create four one-bedroom apartments, the council has confirmed.

Planning officers said his proposed plans fell within the scope of permitted development and did not require prior approval.

No external alterations are proposed as part of the development, which is opposite Wycombe Station and in the conservation area.
