A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man in his 60s had his throat cut in Chalfont St Giles.

At around 11.25pm on Tuesday, July 23, South Central Ambulance Service reported that they were treating a man on Albion Crescent.

The victim suffered wounds to the side and back of his neck and required hospital treatment.

He remains in hospital at this time in a stable condition.

A 21-year-old man from West Drayton, Hillingdon, has been arrested and remains in custody at this time.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Dominique Muldoon said: “We are carrying out an investigation following this concerning incident.

“We are undertaking a number of enquiries and reassurance patrols, so members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area.

“At this stage, we believe the parties involved are known to each other and that this is an isolated incident, with no risk to the wider public.

“I would appeal to anybody who witnessed what happened or who may have dash-cam, CCTV or mobile phone images, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police, either online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43240351710.

“I would also like to appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in Albion Crescent or Milton Fields area of Chalfont St Giles between 11.15pm and midnight, to please contact us as they may have vital information that can assist our investigation.

“I would like to reassure the local community that we are conducting fast time and thorough enquiries, and if anybody has any concerns or information that can help the investigation, to please speak to any of our officers at the scene.
