A man has died after he was attacked at a pub in Burnham as police have arrested one person.
The victim, a man in his fifties, was violently attacked just before 1am on Saturday at the Red Lion pub in Burnham.
He was rushed to hospital but died three days later on Tuesday.
A 28-year-old man, of High Street, Langley, Slough, was charged on Sunday with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded to custody. They are due to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on September 10.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “Sadly, the victim died in hospital today (Tuesday) and a homicide investigation has now been launched.
“We are carrying out further enquiries and we will liaise with the CPS to keep them updated following the victim’s death.
“The man’s next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.”
