A film company that has worked on James Bond, Avengers, Game of Thrones and other titles is opening a post-production facility in Little Chalfont.
Digital Orchard, a film and digital service provider, was given planning permission to transform Cross Lanes Farm on Lodge Lane by Buckinghamshire Council in May before planning officers signed off some of the final details of the site last week.
Its plans state: “Digital Orchard aims to create a brand new environmentally and socially responsible home for film and digital production, industry training and talent support in a beautiful countryside setting.”
Digital Orchard is already based out of Cross Lanes Farm, which is currently occupied by a horse livery business.

Some of the company’s 14 staff work out of the former manager’s home on the farm, using it as an office, with a small number of freelance technicians and clients visiting the site each fortnight.
But Digital Orchard now has permission to demolish the existing structures on the farm to make way for the new facility.
In a planning document featuring pictures of woodland walks and sunlight bursting through trees, the company promises that clients will be ‘left with a feeling of peace and satisfaction’ after visiting the new film hub.
Blueprints for the new facility say it has been designed in harmony with the ‘natural scenic beauty of the landscape’ and that its ancient woodland will be enhanced.
Digital Orchard’s new site will include a garden court, entrance plaza, driveway and car park with 22 spaces.
One of the main areas at the new film hub will be the ‘multi use’ library and client kitchen, described in plans as a ‘communal but quiet area’ for work, meetings, events and training.
Other facilities include a reception and waiting area, a post-production technical area with editing suites, a larger technical area, a kit store and a server room, described as the ‘beating heart’ of the new film hub.
Meanwhile, two theatres described as ‘crucial to post-production’ will also be built for final audio mixing and picture grading ‘allowing all work to be quality controlled for release’.
As well as film production and audio editing, Digital Orchard said its new film hub will welcome ‘high profile guests’ and provide ‘public educational facilities’.
Digital Orchard has worked on major films and TV programmes, including providing digital imaging and video playback for Avengers: Infinity War, No Time to Die and Game of Thrones.
