A man has been bitten and scratched by a shoplifter outside a supermarket.

The person in question, who has asked to remain anonymous, revealed to the Free Press that the incident occurred by the Tesco supermarket near High Wycombe's Eden Shopping Centre on Tuesday, June 25 at around 6.15pm.

He revealed that he spotted a woman ‘stealing’ and confronted her, before being attacked.

This resulted in being bitten twice and scratched.

No-one has been arrested or charged with the crime, whilst the force is dealing with the situation as a robbery.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson, said: “Thames Valley Police received a report of a robbery on Newland Street, High Wycombe, at around 6.14pm on Tuesday, June 25.

“Officers are investigating the incident and if anyone has any information, please call 101 or make a report online quoting 43240300575.”
