An arrest has been made following the launch of a rape investigation in Gerrards Cross.
This comes after a woman in her 20s was attacked along the Oxford Road near St James’ Church in the village at around 10.40pm on Thursday, July 11.
A cordon was put in place and specially trained officers are still supporting the victim.
Police urged anyone with information to come forward and on Wednesday, July 17, a 54-year-old man from High Wycombe was arrested on suspicion of rape.
He remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Christian Meichsner said: “We have been proactively investigating this rape as a priority and have made an arrest.
“I’d like to thank the public for their support of our investigation, which is still ongoing.
“We are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to contact us by making a report on our website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43240329920.
