Fire crews were sent out to separate roads in Chesham in the space of just 24 hours.

At around 1.40am on Monday, July 15, firefighters from Amersham and Beaconsfield attended an incident on Severalls Avenue in the town.

One car was well alight when they arrived.

The incident generated multiple calls to Thames Valley Fire Control Service.

The firefighters used:

  • Two sets of breathing apparatus
  • Two hose reels
  • One thermal imaging camera
  • A dry powder extinguisher

There were no reported injuries and the fire crews made the scene safe.

The following day on Tuesday, July 16 at roughly 10.30pm, crews were once again called out to an area of Chesham.

This time, it was along Belmont Road.

There, they discovered an electrical fire.

The firefighters used a thermal imaging camera, an electricity tracker and isolated the electrics.

The electric pumping unit was approximately 50 per cent damaged by the fire.
