This is the moment a fight broke out at a packed pub near Wycombe as hundreds of people turned out to watch the Euros final.

A brawl took place during England’s 2-1 Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain with abuse shouted at police who intervened.

Hundreds of fans visited the Beech Tree in Terriers, Hazlemere on July 14, to see if Gareth Southgate’s team could win their first major tournament in 58 years.

It was also the Three Lions’ first-ever final on foreign soil but goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal either side of Cole Palmer’s equaliser, gave La Roja their fourth European Championship from five finals.

Those who attended the event at the Amersham Road boozer arrived in good spirits with some being present from the doors first opened at 2pm, but things started to escalate midway through the second half between a group of England supporters.

But while the vast majority enjoyed the match in peace, a fight broke out between a small group of overzealous supporters in the pub garden, diverting the spectators’ attention away from the football on the big screen and onto the scuffle.

On-duty police officers intervened and ejected those causing trouble before cups of beer and other items were thrown at the authorities.

Several security guards also had abuse herald at them during the contest, as many people were turned away due to the large number of fans inside the pub garden.

This led to several angry outbursts towards bouncers at the entrance gates.

Some frustrations then began to boil over inside the premises when bar staff stopped serving alcohol during the second period of the contest, and instead only took orders for soft drinks.

This was down to the police's advice due to the large number of customers inside the vicinity.

It was reopened roughly one hour later.

Many were left annoyed as they felt they had wasted their time in the queue.

One person, who wanted to remain anonymous, told the Free Press: “Before the game started, I waited one hour and 15 minutes just to get a pitcher of beer and a couple of soft drinks for my group.

“Of course, it’s annoying as it took such a long time, but I do feel for the bar staff and the security as they’re just doing their jobs.

“It’s been so busy – there are people everywhere so they can only do their best.”

Despite the bust-up between the supporters, overall the night was a great success for the Beech Tree with many heaping praise on the venue for being “one of the best places” to watch the football for its lively atmosphere.
