A man who was arrested for several alleged crimes outside a High Wycombe primary school has been released on police bail.

At around 1pm on Thursday, July 4, response and armed officers attended Booker Hill School on Field Road where they immediately shut down the building as a ‘precautionary measure.’

Following the incident, a 17-year-old man, who is from the town, was arrested for the following:

  • Suspicion of possession of a firearms offence
  • Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B, cannabis.

He was taken into police custody where he remained.

However, Thames Valley Police has since confirmed that the teenager has been release on bail until September 30 this year, as the investigation continues.

The nature of the incident caused great concern to those in the area, but after an extensive search for a firearm, which was not found, the school returned to normal.

Anita Cranmer, who is Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services, told the Free Press: “The school was advised by the police of a local incident and followed lockdown procedures accordingly to ensure the safety of everyone on site until the incident was stood down by the police.”

Additionally, anyone with information should call 101 or make a report to Thames Vallet Police by quoting reference number 43240316273.”
