Esteemed dramatists the Holmer Green Players are returning once more with a brand-new stage production.
This time, the group will be performing an adaptation of The Addams Family.
The Holmer Green Players adult group will be performing The Addams Family from Wednesday to Saturday July 17 to 20.
This musical is based on the 1960s black comedy about a family with macabre interests and supernatural abilities.
The TV series was itself inspired by Charles Addams cartoons in the New Yorker magazine. The TV series was followed in the 1990s by a three-film series.
The storyline centres around Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, who has grown up and now has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows; she’s fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family!
Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.
Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents. All the usual clan are present - Uncle Fester, Lurch, Pugsley et al.
