A Grade I listed building in Amersham will undergo a refurbishment.

Shardeloes, which opened in the 18th century, is set to have some of its walls and doors replaced, whilst some features including a lantern in one of the flats will also be renovated.

Plans were submitted to Buckinghamshire Council back in April this year, with the green light being given on July 1.

In one of the official planning documents, a section of the approval letter reads: “Listed building consent for the proposed replacement of existing cement render with lime to Shardeloes House and former stable block.

“Replacement of flat roof and lantern to a single-storey extension to Shardeloes House, following the application received on April 24.
