Dear Editor,

I write with regard to all the big names who support the Marlow Film Studios venture, as reported in the Free Press last week (June 29).

These people - including Andrew Neil - do not live in or near Marlow, or the surrounding area, especially near the site of the proposed studios.

I wonder what kind of house they live in and what their view out of their front windows is like, one can only image that their view does not include 70 foot high warehouses and multi story carpark, but that is what they want to foist upon myself and my neighbours.

Yes the site was a quarry, yes it was landfill, but it has by the council been classed as greenbelt.

So what happens when they start building and release into the air all the fibreglass various poisons in the ground, who is going to suffer, not all these big names, but the residents surrounding the site, especially the residents in the park homes around which the studios will be erected.

They say that the sound stages will be soundproofed, how will they soundproof the 2 outdoor sound stages?

Thames Water cannot cope at present and are continually pumping raw sewage into the Thames River, with the extra number of people working in the studios this will only increase and local businesses, who rely on the Thames, such as the boat trips and the leisure centres, also the rowing clubs on the Thames will have to shut down due to health reasons.

The studios are a good idea, but they are in the WRONG place.
