A section of a High Wycombe road has been cordoned off by Thames Valley Police.
In the morning of Monday, July 1, those working along Queen Victoria Road were to 'told to evacuate' their respective work spaces by the authorities.
Images obtained by the Free Press show those employed by Royal Mail standing on the street, whilst other works for several businesses in the area have also been told to vacate.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "A suspicious package has been found in a vehicle parked near the police station.
"There is currently a cordon in place, with neighbouring buildings evacuated as a precaution.
"St Marys Street and Queen Victoria Road are closed and likely to remain closed for some time.
"The Swan car park is within the cordoned off area, but we are facilitating those parked there to be able to leave.
"We would advise motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area at this time. We will provide further updates when the road reopens."
Traffic has begun to build up on nearby roads, with drivers redirected to the flyover.
