Parliamentary candidates for the Beaconsfield constituency were questioned on issues including sewage, social care and the environment at a local hustings event on Wednesday, June 19.
The hustings, held at All Saints Church ahead of the general election on July 4, saw award-winning BBC presenter Andrea Catherwood put audience questions to MP hopefuls from the parties standing for election in the area.
Incumbent MP and conservative candidate Joy Morrissey was in attendance, alongside Anna Crabtree for the Liberal Democrats, Matthew Patterson for Labour, Dominic Pegram for the Green Party, John Halsall for Reform UK and independent candidates Cole Caesar and Pippa Allen.
Acting as moderator for the evening’s Question Time-style format, Andrea questioned the candidates about local issues including sewage discharge in the River Thames, social care and electoral reform.
Reverend Dave Bull said he was “delighted” to see the church being used as a forum for political debate and a space for “candidates and residents to share their hopes for the future, our town, our constituency and our country”.
