A man is being treated for serious burns after two boats caught fire in Bourne End Marina on Tuesday morning (June 18).
Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service sent six engines and crews to the marina at around 11:44am on Tuesday after reports of a boat fire.
Firefighters found two boats “100 per cent on fire” upon arriving and brought “two men” to safety before passing them into the care of the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).
A spokesperson for SCAS said three people were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, one with serious burns and two with minor injuries.
They added: “After initial treatment at the scene from our team, all were taken to the hospital for further treatment with the most seriously injured patient in a potentially life-threatening condition”.
Three vehicles, a rapid response vehicle and a Thames Valley Air Ambulance critical care response vehicle were dispatched to the scene, alongside fire crews from High Wycombe, Maidenhead, Slough, Beaconsfield, Langley and Amersham.
