A sound mixer from Marlow has been accepted into a highly acclaimed training program run by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Oliver Boon said he was “beyond thrilled” to be admitted to the Gold Rising program, which offers mentorship, networking opportunities and industry exposure to burgeoning creatives.
The Academy is best known for hosting the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles each year and Gold Rising is also an opportunity for the next generation of filmmaking giants to make their names.

Oliver’s sound mixing career has already spanned over eight years, and his acceptance into the program is a testament to his commitment to his craft, with a resume that already includes award-winning film projects.
The Marlow local said he was determined not to “take the opportunity for granted” and learn as much as possible from the “top industry professionals” he will meet throughout the two-month internship.
He is currently based in the US and is in his final year of LA Film School.
