A BBC presenter involved in the channel's election night coverage on July 4 is hosting a Question Time-style hustings event in Marlow today, Wednesday, June 19.
Andrea Catherwood, known for hosting the popular Radio 4 programme Feedback alongside her award-winning foreign coverage for the BBC and presenting stints on Woman’s Hour and The Media Show.
Tonight, she will moderate a general election hustings event at All Saints Church, hearing from all the candidates standing for election in the Marlow, Beaconsfield and South Bucks constituency.
Conservative candidate and incumbent MP Joy Morrissey has confirmed her attendence, alongside Anna Crabtree for the Liberal Democrats, Matthew Patterson for Labour and Dominick Pegram for the Green Party.
The event will take the style of the BBC’s Question Time programme, structured around a call-and-response model between audience members and parliamentary hopefuls.
Questions for the candidates can be emailed ahead of time to hustings@4u-team.org, alongside the questioner’s name and address.
Reverend Dave Bull said he was “delighted” to see the church being used as a forum for political debate, as well as a space for “candidates and residents to share their hopes for the future, our town, our constituency and our country”.
The Marlow election hustings will begin at All Saints Church at 7:30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.
