Plans have been put in place to have a Milton Keynes man be buried in his native country following his tragic death from cancer.

Brailer Cuevas, who is originally from the Dominican Republic, had been living in north Buckinghamshire for two-and-half-years but passed away on June 1 after a brave battle with leukaemia.

Since his death, a GoFundMe page has been set up so that Brailer’s student loan of £13,000 can be paid off, whilst also raising funds to have his body repatriated to the North American country in the Caribbean.

His partner, Alexis Calderón, said: “Brailer Cuevas is the love of my life, my best friend, my everything, I don't know what's next for me without him.

“We were together for eight wonderful years, but sadly had to say goodbye promptly on June 1 after three brain surgeries due to an oedema.

“Brailer is the most determined person I know, the most positive, motivating and inspiring, very responsible, always happy and always there for his loved ones and friends.

“We have always been there for each other unconditionally which is why I want to raise the funds to help ourselves and our families in this difficult times.

“He will be my love forever and I know he will keep looking out for me.

“Any help is much appreciated and I hope God multiplies it all to you and bless you. Thank you.”

At the time of writing, an incredible £11,300 has been raised for their £13,000 target.
