Police are searching for witnesses after three people were injured when another driver rammed into their car two times while waiting at a set of traffic lights.

The driver of a grey Mitsubishi Jeep first made several attempts to overtake the red Vauxhall Corsa while travelling on the junction of Tring Road and Bedgrove in Aylesbury at around 5:30pm on Tuesday, May 28.

After driving dangerously close to the smaller vehicle, the driver of the Jeep reversed and rammed his vehicle into the back of the Corsa twice while it was stopped at a set of traffic lights.

The woman in her twenties who was driving the Corsa sustained neck and shoulder injuries from the crash, while two other passengers, also women in their twenties, were left with neck, shoulder and facial injuries.

None of the victims required hospital treatment.

Thames Valley Police has described the driver of the Jeep as a white male in his twenties of large build with red and blonde hair.

His car reportedly had signwriting on both its sides.

Investigating officer Amanda Long, based at Aylesbury Police Station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this dangerous driving incident whereby three women sustained injuries.

“I would particularly like to speak to the female occupant of a white BMW who stopped and spoke to the victim.

“I would ask anyone who was in or near the area in which this incident took place to get in touch with us if you saw the incident or anything leading up to it.

“Also, if any motorists in the area have dash-cams, please check the footage in case anything significant was caught as it could help our investigation.

“You can contact police by calling the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 43240249288, or by making a report online.”
