The Schools of Chesham Carnival will return this Saturday, June 8, to celebrate its 51st year (and a few road closures are in place).

The chosen theme for the year is 'Toys & Games', and the schools are expected to present themed floats, inspired by board games and classic toys.

The floats will parade through Chesham High Street, leading up to a fair in Lowndes Park.

Anticipated attractions at the fair include traditional fairground games, stalls selling homemade sweets and gifts, craft activities, a pets corner, and a bouncy castle.

The event is co-celebrating the 50th anniversary of Chesham Town Council.

Sally Hills, Chair and Trustee of the carnival, shared her excitement: "This promises to be a big event in the Chesham and surrounding areas community as we are celebrating our 50th along with Chesham Town Council who are also 50 this year."

Road Closures will be in place on Saturday at various times between 11 am and 2pm for the following roads: Asheridge Road, Bellingdon Road, Townsend Road, Broad Street, White Hill, High Street, The Broadway, Market Square, Red Lion Street, St Mary's Way, Watermeadow Car Park.
