A country house on nearly five acres of land has recently gone up on the market.

The property, which is based in Nightingales Lane in Chalfont St Giles, was officially listed to purchase on Friday, May 31 with an eye-watering price of £4,950,000.

The building boasts six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a two-bed separate cottage on the site.

It is also located at three Underground Stations in Chalfont St Peter, Chorleywood and Amersham.

However, if the property is purchased, there is a possibility for the house to be completely redeveloped, despite it being roughly 100 years old.

Its description reads: “A substantial country house believed to originally date from the 1920s offering huge potential whether to upgrade and remodel the existing L-shaped layout or replace with planning permission approved.”

If given the green light a ‘magnificent new build with a gross internal area of about 16,300 square feet (about 1,514 square metres) plus a replacement garden cottage for staff/guests of about 940 square feet (about 87 square metres)’ will be built instead.

As it stands, it is currently the most expensive property to purchase in the village.

The property is currently being looked after by Savills in Amersham.
