A school has issued a statement following an incident involving a student who had to be taken to hospital.

A boy was taken to hospital for treatment after a fight broke out between two Key Stage 3 students at the Chalfonts Community College in Chalfont St Peter on Friday, May 24.

Headteacher Caroline Whitehead said: "The boys parents were immediately informed and one boy received medical attention and we are very pleased he's recovered and is back in school and we met the parents concerned."

The school also "fully investigated the incident and all measures have been taken."

It comes after a concerned parent alleged the students were copying a TikTok video which led to a pupil being '"strangled".

They said: "As a parent, I just think other parents should know what goes on in a school.

"A group of year 8’s strangled another year 8, to the extent he passed out. He ended up in hospital. They did it for a TikTok video. The school are keeping it quiet but parents need to know."

The school confirmed this didn't happen, but the headteacher said: "All students were spoken to immediately by senior staff and to prevent unnecessary speculation. All parents were written to with information on how to contact us over half term.

"We know this was not filmed or posted on social media and our primary goal is the safety and wellbeing of students in our care.

"Education on social media is part of our education and I urge all parents to check their children's use of social media."
