Two Michelin-starred chefs from Tom Kerridge pubs in Marlow have shared their favourite local spots for a bite to eat on a budget.
Tom De Keyser, head chef at The Hand and Flowers - the first pub in the world to earn two prestigious Michelin stars - and Sarah Hayward, who heads up The Coach, a single-starred Kerridge restaurant on West Street, gave Sky their Marlow recommendations as part of a series asking renowned cooks for their pick of cheap eats across the UK.
De Keyser’s suggestion was the family-friendly café The Cedar at 28 West Street, which he described as a “local gem” that could “happily” feed his small family for a modest price.
He said: “I always have the pastrami bagel, which is brilliant, my wife loves the chicken shawarma salad, and my young daughter has a fluffy bowl of scrambled eggs. (Even) with a couple of delicious coffees, (it comes to) less than £40.”
Meanwhile, Hayward chose to keep it in the family by praising fellow Kerridge joint The Butcher’s Tap and Grill at 15 Spittal Street for its menu range and (relative) affordability.

“It’s a great spot for some pub snacks, a fantastic burger or, for something a bit more special you can choose a cut from the butcher’s counter like a pork tomahawk or T-bone steak.
“The chefs will cook it exactly how you like it!”
