A MARLOW nursery has closed after Ofsted received a number of complaints.
Poppies Marlow Day Nursery & Pre-School in Crown Road closed at the end of 2023 by the provider.
The nursery's most recent Ofsted inspection came in May 2023 and was given an overall rating of "good".
Poppies Day Nursery opened in 2010 with facilities for up to 84 children offering daycare for 51 weeks of the year, expect for bank holidays.
On July 27, the provider notified Ofsted of an incident where a "child was left seated and unattended for an extended period."
The report said: "On 27 July 2023 the provider notified us of an incident where a child was left seated and unattended for an extended period. On 7 August 2023 the provider notified us of an incident where staff left a child unattended in the garden. The notifications means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of significant events."
A month later, another incident occurred on August 7, where "staff left a child unattended in the garden."
Ofsted then received a third complaint on October 18, relating to a member of staff.
On November 7, Ofsted carried out a regulatory visit.
The report says: "We found that the provider was not meeting some of the requirements.
"We served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the action below within the timescales set out."
The provider of Poppies Day Nursery in Marlow decided to close the facility.
A new nursery is set to open in Autumn under the name Little Garden The Marlow Riley Park Day Nursery and Pre-School.
This new nursery will operate from a converted Salvation Army church.
A spokesperson for Marlow Poppies Day Nursery said: “The nursery is temporarily closed and will reopen later this year. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and we look forward to welcoming our families back.
“The nursery is currently undergoing refurbishment and we are introducing a fresh approach to ensure that our children have the best start in life.”
