The local community is rallying behind the family of Amanda and Sean, whose son Chris, known as "Summers", passed away unexpectedly, causing shock and sorrow among his friends and family in both the UK and Belize.

A fundraiser organised by Emily Gibbons has already surpassed its goal of £5,000, with £5,201 raised from 84 donations.

Emily said: "We are all shocked and saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Amanda and Sean's beloved son Chris".

Chris, described as a "kind and gentle soul", touched many lives in England and Belize in Central America, leaving an irreplaceable void upon his departure.

The Go Fund me page was started to help the grieving family cover travel, accommodation and memorial costs so they can hold a ceremony in Belize where Chris was happiest, and a UK memorial in Hughenden Valley on Saturday, June 22.

"Nothing can prepare a family for a sudden loss like this", Emily added, expressing the helplessness that many friends and family members feel.

"Any gesture of donation will be gratefully received in Chris’ name".

The funds will also be used to create a lasting memorial to Chris in Belize, paying tribute to where he felt most at home.
