A driver armed with a knife led officers on a high-speed chase before being arrested for several motoring offences.

Thames Valley Police officers first identified the car as being uninsured after spotting it on Marlborough Street in Milton Keynes early yesterday evening (May 16).

They signalled for its driver to pull over but were instead led on a high-speed pursuit around the Buckinghamshire city until the offender abandoned their vehicle and made a run for it on foot.

They didn’t get far before they were detained by Police Constable Dolphin, however, with a knife found nearby by police dog Storm and her handler.

Officers found “numerous” power tools and items that were suspected to have been stolen in the abandoned vehicle, and its driver was arrested on suspicion of having a knife, dangerous, driving, theft, going equipped to steal and having no licence or insurance.
