Carousel Buses has partnered with Heathrow Airport to launch its first 'Flightline' double-deck bus designed to improve links for travellers and workers on the A40 corridor.
The revamped 102 service will now run every 30 minutes from High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, Uxbridge to the airport throughout the week.
This includes extending the service to cover late evening and early morning journeys.
Seven double-deckers, distinguishable by their signature green Flightline 102 paintwork, will provide free WiFi, USB charging ports, improved seating, audio announcements for stops, and on-board luggage racks for suitcases.
Beginning on June 2, passengers can still avail of the government's national fare cap with any single journey costing £2.
Carousel Buses, under the Go-Ahead Group, has seen a 50% increase in patronage on the 102 service due to the £2 fare cap.
This increased use has allowed for improvements funded by both Carousel Buses and Heathrow Airport.
The airport's financial aid reflects its ongoing campaigns to promote sustainable travel options.
Matthew Wooll, Route Development Lead at Heathrow Airport, said: "Our partnership with Carousel Buses is delivering some great improvements to Heathrow’s bus and coach network.
"We want to see many more passengers and colleagues choosing to use public transport to the airport, which takes cars off the road and reduces emissions and congestion, in line with our sustainability goals."
Carousel Buses Managing Director, Luke Marion, added: "This is excellent news for airport workers, air-travellers and bus passengers living in the Chilterns.
"The Flightline service has increased frequency from hourly to half-hourly and we have invested in a fresh improved fleet... We’re looking forward to welcoming more passengers on-board from 2nd June."
The company will run ultra-low emission Euro VI standard buses.
Customers can also make use of contactless payments and access discounted season tickets via the Carousel Buses app or Key Card scheme.
The discounted tickets are available for Heathrow Airport employees.
