An emergency overnight road closure has been put in place while Thames Water tackles a large-scale sewage spill in a pub car park.
Buckinghamshire Highways has warned residents in Aylesbury to avoid a junction on the A41 Tring Road after a sewage spill this afternoon, Wednesday, May 15.
A spokesperson said sewage was "spilling into The Plough pub car park" as of 3:45pm.
An emergency overnight road closure will come into force on the King Edward Avenue/Oakfield Road/Tring Road junction at 10pm tonight.
The closure will allow Thames Water to fix the leak and prevent flooding to nearby properties.
The route will reopen at 6am tomorrow (May 16). A diversion will be indicated.
