A police cordon that was put in place following a shooting and stabbing near a High Wycombe village is expected to be reduced.
Thames Valley Police confirmed the news on the evening of May 11 that supervision along School Close in Downley will be relaxed, nearly 24 hours after a section of the suburb was placed was shut off from members of the public.
This is in relation to an incident that happened on May 10, when a man in his 60s was stabbed by a 54-year-old man.
The latter was then seen running along the street with a crossbow which he fired at a TVP [Thames Valley Police] officer.
The man in question was gunned down by police and taken to a nearby hospital with ‘serious, potentially life-changing injuries’ but is in a stable condition.
He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains under police supervision.
Both the man in his 60s who was stabbed, along with the police officer who was shot, have been discharged from hospital.
Following the incident, Thames Valley Police are now asking members of the public to contact the authorities with any information they might have in relation to the events that unfolded on May 10.
