Homes and businesses could be left without power until 4pm today after a sudden outage late last night.
Six postcode areas in High Wycombe were hit by a sudden power cut just after midnight last night (May 9).
The postcodes impacted by the outage are HP13 5BD, HP13 5B3, HP13 5BG, HP13 5PQ, HP13 5PU and HP13 BQB.
An estimated 19 customers have been affected by the power cut, according to electricity provider Scottish and Southern Energy PLC (SSE).
The provider said an engineer is currently at the site following reports made at 12:38am.
However, power is unlikely to be restored to the affected homes and businesses until 4pm today (May 10).
A spokesperson for SSE said: “We are very sorry for the power cut and are aware of a fault on our local network affecting several homes.
“The cause of this power cut is a fault in our underground network. In most cases, our engineers are able to restore power by simply replacing a fuse at the local substation, however, if the fault is severe, this may result in us needing to make full repairs which can take longer.
“Our engineers are in the area and working hard to get power restored as soon as possible.”
