A garden gate from Roald Dahl's mother's house, located in Buckinghamshire, will feature on BBC One's show The Repair Shop tomorrow night, on April 24.
This gate belongs to Hannah Smart, who purchased the Dahl's family home known as Mama's Cottage in Grendon Underwood in March 2023.
Hannah revealed ahead of the show: "My garden gate is on The Repair Shop tomorrow evening- former home of Roald Dahl, in Grendon Underwood."
She further added: "The story of my renovation of Mama’s Cottage … a labour love for this beautiful former home of Roald Dahl and his Mama."
The episode will shed light on the renovation efforts surrounding Grendon Cottage, a property featured in Dahl’s book Going Solo.
Dahl, who served in the RAF during World War 2, returned to his family home in London in 1941, only to discover the absence of his family.
In his memoir Going Solo, Dahl illustrated how his trail led him to Grendon Cottage.
The fantastic tales of Dahl's wartime experiences involve dramatic instances such as crashing over the Libyan desert and participating in aerial warfare.
Dahl later penned several best-selling children’s books including James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the BFG.
Today, the Grade II-listed, thatched Grendon Cottage stands tall with a sitting room, dining room, two bedrooms, and a double garage.
Filming for the episode took place in October 2023.
