A 30-year-old man has been sentenced in connection with a dangerous dog incident.
Alex Milenkovic of Shipton Lee, Quainton, was disqualified from owning a dog for two years at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 22.
He was also ordered to pay £1,200 in compensation to the victim and £3,500 to Thames Valley Police in kennelling costs.
This is in relation to an incident that happened at around 9am on Monday, February 19, when three dogs belonging to Milenkovic escaped from their home and entered private farmland near Quainton.
The animals ‘worried’ livestock before Milenkovic regained control of his pets.
Following an investigation, the dog owner was arrested on Thursday, February 22 and charged the following day [Friday, February 23].
Milenkovic pleaded guilty to one count each of being the owner of a dog worrying livestock, and being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.
He was acquitted of one count of duty of a person responsible for animals to ensure welfare at the same hearing.
Investigating officer PC Ryan Dollery, of the Rural Crime Taskforce, said: “I am pleased with this court result, disqualifying Alex Milenkovic from owning dogs for two years.
“Thames Valley Police take reports of dogs dangerously out of control and/or worrying livestock seriously and we will seek to take offenders to court, where necessary.”
