The Rose and Crown in High Wycombe has been named as Joint Runner Up in the 2024 Pub of the Year competition by the Aylesbury Vale and Wycombe branch of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale).
Branch deputy chairman, Elvis Evans, presented the pub with the certificate, with supporters and Kursten Palmer, Rose and Crown licensee, in attendance.
The winner was determined by a thrilling online vote amongst branch members.
Upon receiving the certificate, one local CAMRA member praised the pub, saying, "it is a traditional pub with a great atmosphere and serves quality real ale consistently.”
With Kursten at the helm for nearly six years, the pub has established itself as a social hub, hosting three darts teams, card games, and monthly live music, alongside charity pub quizzes and televised sports.
Ideally placed near Wycombe bus station, the pub also offers a beer garden and serves four real ales from handpumps.
As the CAMRA members raised a toast to the Rose and Crown, best wishes were extended for the upcoming 2025 competition.
