A man from Swindon who burgled a house near Marlow has been jailed.
Keiron Barlow, 27, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday, March 27 for his involvement in three dwelling burglaries.
Two took place in his home county of Wiltshire in May and October 2022, whilst the third occurred in Medmenham on August 10, 2023.
On that day seven months ago, Barlow, along with two other masked men, broke a kitchen window and entered the victim's property who was in bed at the time.
After hearing a noise, the occupier confronted Barlow and his accomplices whom he chased out of the house.
He also kept a low profile after escaping the authorities for nearly one year.
In the first incident on May 25, 2022, Barlow and two other men broke into a property in Chippenham while the occupants were on holiday.
He first visited during the day and stole a pressure washer but returned with his accomplices at night to break in and carry out untidy searches of all the rooms including the children's bedrooms.
Cash was stolen and jewellery amounting to more than £100,000.
Two men have already been sentenced to three years and two years for their part in this burglary.
Then on October 25, 2022, Barlow smashed his way into the rear of another person’s property in Cricklade.
Although nothing was stolen, the occupant was a woman in her early 90s who was watching TV.
He has been jailed for six years and two months.
Complex Crime Investigator Bianca Ledbury, from the Burglary Unit, said: "Mr Barlow was on licence when he committed the first burglary and wanted on a warrant at the time, he committed the final burglary.
“These offences were extremely upsetting for the victims whose homes were invaded by Mr Barlow.
“They included a lady in her 90s who was inside at the time and her health has been impacted greatly as a result.
"Justice has taken a long time for these victims because Mr Barlow went on the run from police for nearly a year, and I'd like to thank them for the patience they've shown during this time.
"Sadly, property from one victim remains outstanding.
“This includes a pocket watch left to the victim by his grandfather which had been in the family for generations and is of huge sentimental value.
“I would also urge anyone who has purchased high-value Rolex watches at a questionable lower price to research the item to see if it is stolen so it can be reunited with the owner.
“Mr Barlow was asked to assist police in the whereabouts of the victim’s stolen jewellery but so far, has not.
"Mr Barlow has stated that he wants to reform, only time will tell whether he is sincere in this statement.
“I hope he will reflect on the harm he has caused and decide to pursue an occupation that helps rather than harms society upon his release."
