Parish Councillors have said they are ‘saddened’ after a war memorial was vandalised earlier this month.
Images shared by Wendover Parish Council show that a pavement light which illuminates the statue has been smashed.
The incident is said to have happened on March 4 with the memorial currently being cordoned off for the public to use.
A spokesperson from the Parish Council said: “We have had to tape off a section around the War Memorial on the Manor Waste due to vandalism.
“We are saddened by this vandalism as the War Memorial is a historical and important monument and the ground lights are not only a legal requirement but also highlight the memorial to show respect.
“This happened last night we believe between 8pm and 10pm [on March 4].
