A MAN has been arrested after officers happened to be at the scene of an in-progress shoplifting and drugs incident.
During a neighbourhood patrol in Chesham, police found a Hyundai car parked illegally on zig zag lines.
At that time, a separate incident was happening in the store at the time.
Police were alerted to a shoplifting incident and the man 'not keen to be searched' by police.
During the search, police found eight wraps of suspected Class A drugs.
As a result, the shoplifter has been arrested and remains in custody for drug supply and theft.
Thames Valley Police said: "As the driver was being dealt with, staff from the local shop informed us of a shoplifting in progress.
"The shoplifter was not keen to be searched and attempted to leave. We know why he was not keen to stay with us as 8 wraps of suspected Class A drugs were found on them.
"One person in custody for drug supply and theft and one local Chesham driver lucky with words of advice on this occasion."
