Police are upping their patrols after a shopkeeper was struck by an axe in a terrifying robbery.
A staff member at the Londis store on Bois Lane in Chesham Bois was hit on the head with an axe during a robbery that happened at around 5:30pm on Thursday, February 22.
Thames Valley Police has linked the incident to a robbery that happened just one day before at Ivy Stores on Plantation Road in Amersham and involved a man threatening a member of staff with a knife.
Police released CCTV images of two individuals they believe have "vital information" about the robberies on Friday, February 23, and confirmed yesterday (February 24) that no arrests have yet been made.
A spokesperson for the force confirmed that patrols across Amersham and Chesham, as well as Beaconsfield, the Chalfont's and the Missenden's, have been increased following the two incidents.
They said neighbourhood officers had been out speaking to shopkeepers in Amersham and Chesham after the robberies and had helped to stop a burglary in real time and detain a man who was wanted for several offences while on patrol.
If you recognise the individuals pictured in the CCTV images or have information about the robberies, contact Thames Valley Police by calling 101 and quoting reference number 43240085255 or making a report online.
