No one should face this level of violence just for doing their job...
Those are the words of a police detective investigating two robberies where shops were targeted on Wednesday and Thursday night.
The latest of which saw a staff member at Londis Chesham Bois hit in the head with an axe as thieves stole cash and vapes.
Ivy Stores in Amersham is also the subject of the police investigation.
Detective Sergeant Campbell Smith from the Amersham police station is investigating seriously concerning linked incidents.
He stressed: "No one should face this level of violence just for doing their job", assuring that a thorough probe targeted at the culprits is underway.
Reassuringly, he added "more officers are being deployed for extra patrols" and a partnership with local neighbourhood policing teams has been formed to secure local businesses.
Anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward, including those with dash-cam footage.
