SIX Buckinghamshire wedding venues have won a national award.

Bisham Abbey near Marlow, was announced as a winner in the Hitched Wedding Awards 2024.

The accolade, now in its third year, is based on reviews obtained via the well-known wedding planning platform Hitched.co.uk.

Bisham Abbey, once the favourite vacation home of King Henry VIII, achieved impressive full marks - 5 out of 5 - for every review received in the past year.

Melissa Grant, the Wedding Co-ordinator for Bisham Abbey expressed her gratitude.

She said: "This award means so much to me and to the whole Bisham Abbey team, as it’s based purely on the views of the people who chose us for their wedding day celebrations.

"Thank you to everyone who reviewed us on Hitched.com.

"It is very rewarding to see so much positive feedback about everything Bisham Abbey has to offer as a wedding venue."

The Hitched Wedding Award is not merely a commendation for any business, but also serves as a testament to the exceptional services the vendor provides to the couples.

Bigstrup Farm in Haddenham, Crowne Plaza in Gerrards Cross, The Bull Hotel in Gerrard's Cross, The Tudor Barn in Burnham and Wilton hall in Bletchley were also featured as the top wedding venues.

The Hitched Wedding Awards are built upon more than 150,000 reviews from couples, reflecting an ongoing desire for personalised, unique weddings.

Given the around 23,000 wedding businesses listed in the Hitched directory, the high-quality service and customer satisfaction provided by the winners should not be underestimated.

Mr Melo emphasised this, adding: "This award has become an industry reference and a guarantee for couples planning their wedding every year - newlyweds recognise that a Hitched Wedding Award means that these vendors were truly valued by their previous clients."

Since 2011, the management of Bisham Abbey has been under the care of Serco Leisure, on behalf of Sport England.
