A popular Flackwell Heath chip shop has been visited by a social media channel dedicated to reviewing the UK’s hidden gems.
Ollie Eats , a social media food creator who reviews restaurants, recently posted a video on his Instagram page showing a visit to The Harbour Fish and Chips on Swains Lane.
The platform has 129,000 followers on Instagram, 36,000 followers on Facebook, with his food review videos of visits to takeaways and fast-food joints across the country getting tens of thousands of views.
The Harbour is a popular choice among locals in the area, and the 'local born and bred Buckinghamshire lad' went to see what all the fuss was about.
So, in Ollie Eats video, Ollie paid the village a visit to try the famous chippy.
He orders his usual, medium cod, chips, jumbo sausage, battered sausage, mushy peas, curry sauce - which set him back £19.90.
He said: "It was cash only which you know really annoys me but as a local born and bred lad I grew up on fish and chips but it would interesting to know if tourists can spot what regional differences and more importantly can tell a difference between what is good and what is bad."
He praises the food describing the cod as "fresh flaky with the skin removed and a super light crispy bubbly batter."
Ollie Eats said he was "really impressed with this chippy tea but would have liked more salt and vinegar".
Residents also left their positive reviews of The Harbour Fish and Chips underneath his post.
Ivan Bird said: "This is a really tasty chip shop in fact the best around."
Emma Jaycock seconds this: "The best fish and chip shop!"
Another said: "We love The Harbour - always good food. Price for F&C is expensive now, but compared to a Chinese, Indian it’s not so bad - that’s how I justify it! We have same order as you - but add a piece of chicken!"
