A man was fined £800 after failing to follow tax regulations in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
Roger Tice, 46, of Sherifoot Lane, Sutton Coldfield, neglected to supply goods and services with the necessary Value Added Tax (VAT) security between December 2021 and February 2022, in breach of the Value Added Tax Act 1994.
Tice also twice failed to comply with PAYE regulations by not providing security for payments due to HM Revenue and Customs in January 2022, violating the Income Tax (Earnings and Pensions) Act 2003.
For such financial negligence, Tice was ordered to pay a total of £800 in fines at a hearing at Reading Magistrates' Court where his plea switched from not guilty to guilty
From April 1, 2024, Tice will begin paying £200 monthly instalments until the total sum is reimbursed.
His conviction serves as a reminder about the importance of adhering to tax regulations and the serious financial repercussions for those who fail to comply.
