A road in a 'bad state' is set to be resurfaced later this year following repeated issues with potholes.
Buckinghamshire Council have confirmed Berkhampstead Road, Chesham, will be resurfaced in the 'spring summer' but couldn't give an exact date.
Chris Richards has complained to his local cllr as he's witnessed "cyclists take their life in their own hands".
He said: "Pedestrians continue to navigate very gritty and uneven surfaces.
As seen in the photo this section of Berkhamsted Road in Chesham has been patched up over and over but the state of it today is the worst I have ever seen. The boulders lying close by reveal the extent of the problem.
"The council came and repaired the pothole, within a week it had broken down. They came again and did a temporary repair and yet again this has not been adequate and is in need of urgent repair.
"I spoke with the local councillor who assures me that Berkhampstead Road is scheduled for resurfacing this year.
"In the meantime, the suspension, tyres and tracking of cars get ruined, cyclists take their life in their own hands and pedestrians continue to navigate very gritty and uneven surfaces.
"I really struggle to push my elderly neighbour in a wheelchair along this stretch of pavement."
Steven Broadbent is Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport verified the struggles residents have faced with this road.
He said: "During the cold and wet winter months we often need to undertake temporary repairs to emergency potholes when conditions mean permanent repairs would fail.
"Additionally, where a road is due for a full resurfacing scheme, larger patching does not offer value for money.
" Except in extreme conditions, we would expect these temporary repairs to last long enough until a permanent repair can be done, so we will revisit this site and carry out further works as needed.
"We have a regime of regular inspections that pick up these kinds of issues and we continue to advise people who see a defect or highways issue to report it via Fix My Street.
"This location is due to be resurfaced over the spring/summer and the date for these works will be confirmed nearer the time.”
