A children’s nursery is celebrating after recently receiving a ‘good’ Ofsted report.
Poppies Day Nursery in Holmer Green was inspected back on November 30, 2023, before getting the results at the start of this month.
The Watchet Lane venue has been graded ‘good’ in all areas, with the nursery being located in the same vicinity as the village’s main football team.
A segment of the report reads: “Children are welcomed by friendly staff as they arrive at this setting.
“They enter happily and settle quickly on arrival.
“Children, including the youngest, confidently explore and choose activities.
“They chatter excitedly as they show their friends what they are making.
“They are motivated learners and demonstrate a positive attitude towards their learning.”
It continues: “Staff have high expectations for children as they plan activities to capture children's interest and engage them.
“This means that children stay at activities for extended periods.”
The report also stated that the children have ‘developed a love for nature’, and that they take part in a ‘broad range of activities’.
It continued: “Children learn about the life cycle of chickens.
“They recently saw eggs hatch and are learning how to look after the chickens as they grow.
“Parents, grandparents and children were all invited to choose names for the three chickens.”
