DOZENS of excited school children have taken part in a colourful Mufti Day to help raise more than £3,000 for a new playground.
School children from across Chesham celebrated Mufti day by swapping their uniforms for their own, colourful clothes on Friday, January 12.
Pupils from Brushwood Junior School, Chartridge Combined School, Chesham Prep School, Elmtree Infant & Nursery School, Hawridge and Cholesbury Church of England School, Heritage House School, Ivingswood Academy, Ley Hill School, Newtown School, Our Lady's Catholic Primary School, and Waterside Primary Academy took part in the day to help raise funds for a new playground in Chesham’s Lowndes Park.

Children impressed with their artistic skills by each designing their dream playground, with donations coming in to each school from parents and the wider community in exchange for the 'wear what you want day'.
Spearheaded by Love Lowndes volunteers, the playground refurbishment is estimated to cost £150,000 and it is the first stage of the major regeneration plan of the popular Chesham park revealed by Chesham Town Council last year.
The Mufti Day raised more than £3,000.
