Chiltern Railways has warned customers ahead of train drivers' industrial action.
The train drivers’ union ASLEF said its members will talk out in January and February over a “long-running dispute over pay.”
Drivers will walk out at Chiltern Railways, Great Western and CrossCountry on Monday, February 5.
The drivers refuse to work overtime from Monday, January 29 until Tuesday, February 6.
Generally during an overtime ban, Chiltern Railways trains may start later, finish earlier and they might not call at some stations.
Chiltern Railways said it is likely to be “some days before we are able to confirm the impact on our services.”
General secretary of ASLEF Mick Wheland said many of its members have “not had a single penny increase to their pay in half a decade, during which inflation soared and with it the cost of living” and that drivers, who were keyworkers, didn’t ask for an increased during the coronavirus pandemic.
ASLEF has announced a Strike day on Chiltern Railways services for Monday 5 February 2024.
