High Wycombe’s Labour Parliamentary Candidate ‘will not take anything for granted’ despite being predicted to win the town’s seat at this year’s General Election.
Emma Reynolds, who could become the town’s first Labour MP since 2010, is expected to take the seat from Conservative Steve Baker.
According to Nowcast, the Tories have been forecasted to lose 21.1 per cent of their votes whilst Labour could see an increase of 15.1 per cent.
This, coupled with the Reform Party potentially gaining support of 9.2 per cent, with the Greens being at 2.7, could see Steve Baker lose his seat for the first time in 14 years.
Additionally, Aylesbury, which has been a Conservative safe seat since 1931 is also expected to lose out to Labour, whilst Beaconsfield is predicted to remain a blue constituency.
Amersham & Chesham is also set to remain with the Liberal Democrats.
She told the Free Press: “This is our best chance for over 70 years to return a Labour MP for Wycombe but we don’t take anything for granted.
“We’re out every week talking to hundreds of residents about their concerns.
“More and more people say they are fed up after 14 years of this failing government.
“I passionately believe a Labour government working with a Labour MP here in Wycombe would renew our area, with better schools, hospitals and getting the economy back on track.”
