A much-loved garden centre in Iver is not expected to open ‘for a while’ following a huge fire.
Flowerland on Norwood Lane, saw firefighters at around 2.30am on January 15 after flames were spotted coming from the kitchen area.
Fire engines and crews from Langley, Slough and Gerrards Cross attended to tackle the situation.
It has now emerged that despite a sign on the garden centre’s gates explaining they plan to ‘reopen soon’, it is expected that the business will not resume ‘for some time’.
No time frame has been given, but it has been suspected it will not reopen until the spring, maybe longer.
Forensics are expected to attend Flowerhand before the end of the week for examination.
Several customers were seen standing outside the huge building on January 17 unsure of what had happened.
One said: “Flowerland is hugely popular amongst the Iver community.
“They’ve got a beautiful café that is mainly used by the elderly and lots of people in and around the area visit for all the plants they’ve got on offer.
“It’s a real community-based business.”
Following the fire, Flowerland has asked customers to visit their Bourne End branch, which is located around 20 minutes away via car.
The popular garden centre was listed on Google Maps as ‘temporarily closed.’
